This thought just occurred to me...
The Catholic Church is getting into all kinds of trouble because not only did some of their priests molest children, but then the organization kept these men in the priesthood even after these assaults became known to higher ups.
So, what we have here... is a failure to ex-communicate.

The original _Cool Hand Luke_ quote is "what we have is failure to communicate" not "what we have is *a* failure to communicate". I've never heard anyone quote it correctly.
Duh, and then I go and mess it up. There's a missing "here" in those quotes.
Not sure how much crack the previous poster had at time of posting, but who gives a damn what the original quote was? The misquoted "*a* failure to communicate" is funnier than the original, if indeed the original is as TW claims. Allan, you should send your quote to Readers Digest or something. It was LOL funny.
